Free SVG Lightning Bolt Generator

The lightning bolt is one of the most universal "energy" symbols in design — used for power, speed, electricity, urgency. It carries a strong visual personality: angular, sharp, kinetic. Few shapes communicate "fast / charged / now" as efficiently.

Most lightning graphics are stock or emoji ⚡ — generic and overused. A custom bolt with your brand's exact angles, taper, and color tells a more specific story.

This generator builds the bolt as a parametric polygon — sharp corners, no curves by default. The "Convert to editable path" button is available if you want to tweak individual vertices for asymmetric / damaged-bolt looks.

Classic Bolt: 2 segments, moderate zigzag, slight taper. Yellow→orange gradient. The default look — recognizable and balanced. Good for most app icons and brand marks.

Fork / Branched: 4+ segments with high zigzag. Reads as more "wild" or chaotic — good for energy company branding, electrical hazard signs, dramatic effect.

Sharp / Spike: 3 segments, high zigzag, high taper, sharp stroke. Darker color. Reads as dangerous / aggressive — good for esports, gaming, action.

Soft / Glow: 2 segments, low zigzag, no stroke, with outer glow. Reads as energy / power without the aggressive edge — good for premium / fitness / wellness apps.

Always glow. Lightning without a glow looks pasted-on. Even a subtle 4px outer glow in pale yellow makes the bolt feel like it's emitting light.

Yellow + orange + small bit of black stroke = the classic comic-book bolt. Pure black (no fill, just outline) reads as edgy / monochrome modern.

For app icons: simpler is better. 2-segment classic bolt with crisp gradient and subtle glow. Avoid high segment counts (4+) — they read as messy at small sizes.

For dramatic / hero use: high segment count (4–5), high taper, dramatic gradient (deep purple → hot pink → yellow), strong outer glow. Reads as supernatural / power-up.
