How to Use

Name the problem
Click the topic in the middle and type what you are brainstorming about, or open one of eight starters such as a product launch, a growth strategy, or a decision.

Get the ideas out
Select the centre and choose Add branch for each theme, then select a branch and choose Add idea as fast as ideas come. Click any node and type to reword it.

Group and arrange
Drag ideas next to the ones they belong with. The connecting lines follow, so the map never comes apart.

Switch the view
Show the same ideas as a radial map, a two-sided split, a top-down tree, an orbit, report-ready cards, or a sticky-note board for the session itself.

How do I brainstorm with a map?
Start with one central question, add a branch for each angle (people, cost, risks, ideas), and add ideas under each branch without judging them. Only after the ideas stop coming do you drag them into groups and remove the weak ones.
Can I use it as a sticky-note board?
Yes. Switch the layout to Board and the map becomes a sticky-note brainstorm board. Switch back to a map at any time; the ideas stay the same.
Can my team brainstorm on it together?
Not live: one person edits at a time. A common setup is to share your screen in the meeting and type ideas in as people call them out, then download the PNG for everyone.
What should go in the middle of a brainstorm map?
One clear question or topic, phrased so every idea can answer it. "How do we get our first 100 customers?" works better than "Marketing". Branches then become the main angles, and ideas hang off each branch.
